Hoarse 2LP

Hoarse catches 16 Horsepower live, mostly from a May 1998 show at Denver's own Bluebird Theatre, the gothic Americana band that started in that same city before signing to the European label Glitterhouse. "Horse Head" comes from an earlier date at the same room, while "Fire Spirit," with French musician Bertrand Cantat guesting, was taped that October across the ocean at the Bataclan in Paris. Across two rooms and two continents, the band's haunted, twangy pull through murder ballads and backwoods gospel holds steady.
