The album is the band's biggest selling to date, with over one million copies sold, going platinum in the US with a Top 5 hit in True Faith which was accompanied by the seminal video, directed by French choreographer Philippe Decouflé.
Joy Division, originally named Warsaw, recorded 11 tracks in May 1978, now known as the RCA Sessions. The band was disappointed with post-production work and the deal fell through, and this album was scrapped.
Originally released as a 12-inch single in 1983. It appeared on CD versions of the band's second studio album, Power, Corruption & Lies Twelve inch vinyl repressing of this 1983 single from the Manchester legends.
