Joy Division, originally named Warsaw, recorded 11 tracks in May 1978, now known as the RCA Sessions. The band was disappointed with post-production work and the deal fell through, and this album was scrapped.
The result is a record caught between worlds: stark, brooding post-punk reminiscent of Closer, and the first flickers of the electronic direction that would later define New Order.
Joao Gilberto's debut LP, 1959's Chega de Saudade was one of the most important bossa nova recordings and credited by many as the album that started bossa nova.
