Los Mocochetes aren’t just a band; they are a movement. Self-described as a seven-piece Chicano Funk powerhouse from Denver’s La Alma/Lincoln Park neighborhood, they have spent over a decade crafting what they call "protest music you can dance to". Their name—a playful hybrid of mocoso (snot-nosed kid) and machete—symbolizes the choice to take young, raw energy and use it as a tool for creation rather than a weapon of destruction. This exclusive 7-inch release is a collaboration between Unit E Records and City Cast Denver, the daily podcast and newsletter that keeps the city connected. Originally released in February 2025 as a centerpiece for the Unit E 7" Record Club, this pressing captures the band's signature blend of funk, cumbia, reggae, and rock with an urgent sociopolitical edge.
