The artist formerly known as Makeout Videotape releases an EP of unsettling soft rock that mixes freaky sleaze with a surprising dose of swooning sensitivity.
DeMarco wrote some demos for This Old Dog on an acoustic guitar, an unusual method for him. He also used a CR-78 drum machine, which can be heard on his album tracks for the first time ever.
"The plan was to start driving north and not go home to Los Angeles until I was done with a record," Five Easy Hot Dogs is a collection of instrumental recordings from Mac's time on the road.
