Luke Albert Combs was born in Huntersville, North Carolina on March 2, 1990 and raised in Asheville, North Carolina. He attended Appalachian State University before pursuing music full-time. His debut This One's for You (2017) launched his commercial career, with extensive country radio play. He has continued releasing material across multiple decades and has become one of the most commercially successful contemporary country artists. His 2023 cover of Tracy Chapman's Fast Car was a international hit, reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and expanding both his and Chapman's audiences.
