Dope Lemon

Dope Lemon is the solo project of Australian musician Angus Stone, born in Sydney in 1986 and best known as half of the folk duo Angus & Julia Stone — but this is hazier territory: psychedelic rock and stoner pop. Honey Bones (2016) and Rose Pink Cadillac (2022) are the usual ways in, with Kimosabè landing in 2024. Shop Dope Lemon vinyl, CDs, and reissues at Wax Trax Records.

About Dope Lemon

Dope Lemon is the solo recording project of Angus Stone, the Australian musician born December 23, 1986 in Sydney. He is best known as half of the folk duo Angus & Julia Stone (with his sister Julia Stone), which has been active since 2006. He launched Dope Lemon as a separate creative identity in 2015 with the debut Uptown Folks EP, with the full-length Honey Bones following in 2016.

Sound and style

Dope Lemon's sound combines psychedelic rock, neo-psychedelia, indie rock, and stoner pop with hazy production approaches drawing on classic psychedelic rock and contemporary indie rock reference points. The project is stylistically distinct from his Angus & Julia Stone folk work.
