The combination of four established songwriters - David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash, and Neil Young - made CSNY one of the most acclaimed and turbulent supergroups in rock. The group reunited periodically over the decades. David Crosby died in 2023.
CSNY expanded the harmony-rich folk rock of CSN with Neil Young's grittier songwriting and electric guitar, ranging from delicate acoustic ballads to harder-edged rock and pointed political statements.
