Crosby, Stills & Nash formed in 1968 from members of three already-prominent bands: David Crosby (The Byrds), Stephen Stills (Buffalo Springfield), and Graham Nash (The Hollies). One of the original rock supergroups, the trio was celebrated for its lush three-part vocal harmonies and songwriting. They frequently performed and recorded as a quartet, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, with the addition of Neil Young. David Crosby died in 2023.
The group blends folk rock, soft rock, and singer-songwriter traditions, built on acoustic textures, close harmony singing, and socially and personally reflective lyrics.
