Rush's seventh album saw them shrugging off their conceptual prog voyages for more radio friendly pieces. Even though the songs are shorter they are packed with all the aggressive virtuosity of previous works.
Rush have always had a fascination with synths and new-wave technology in their previous records, but here it's at the forefront and it's unavoidable. It's different yes, but is it bad? Hell no.
The 7th album from Can finds them playing around with a bigger tape machine while maintaining their freak scuzz intuition. "Vernal Equinox" alone is worth the price of admission.
