Charlie Brown Christmas LP

Vince Guaraldi wrote this score for a half-hour kids' cartoon in 1965 and ended up with one of the best-selling Christmas jazz records ever made. "Linus and Lucy" and "Christmas Time Is Here" are the standards everyone knows; the trio playing behind them is cooler and tighter than the special's reputation as background noise usually gets credit for. Craft Recordings wraps this Black Friday pressing in an advent-calendar gatefold, a sleeve built for the season.
