Platinum Christmas LP

Platinum Christmas pulls from the Sony Legacy vault across several decades instead of picking one era and sticking with it, which makes it more of a grab bag than a theme record. You get newer radio regulars like "My Only Wish (This Year)" and "Grown-Up Christmas List" sitting next to older standards, Steps' cover of "Merry X-Mas Everybody" and Joe's cover of "This Christmas" among them, the kind of pairing that only makes sense once you remember Christmas radio does this exact thing every December. It's a sampler, not a tribute to any one artist or sound, and it plays like one.
