Turnover's second album, cut with Will Yip at Studio 4 in Conshohocken and put out on Run for Cover, is the record where the band dropped its pop-punk roots for something hazier. Guitarist Eric Soucy pushed that shift hard, and an Electro-Harmonix Superego pedal supplies the ambient drone running under most of these songs. Critics noticed the turn immediately, Exclaim! called it the band's strongest and most dynamic work to that point, and the shift toward dream-pop stuck as the defining move of Turnover's career.
