Admonishing the Bishops LP

Formed in San Francisco in the mid-1980s after several members relocated from Iowa, Thinking Fellers Union Local 282 built a catalog of noise rock and psych experimentation for Matador Records through the 90s, held together by spite and tape splices. Admonishing the Bishops, originally just an EP, is the one people point to as their tightest, most focused shot, even though it never sold like it should have. They went quiet after the mid-90s, came back for shows in the 2010s and 2020s, and Animal Collective still name-checks them as an influence.
