Strangeways, Here We Come CD

Strangeways, Here We Come is the Smiths' fourth and final album, cut at Wool Hall in Bath with Johnny Marr, Morrissey, and Stephen Street producing, Marr on the music, Morrissey on the words. Marr quit after the tape stopped, so the band was done before the record hit shops, like winning the big award and skipping out before they call your name. It closed the group's deal with Rough Trade, hit No. 2 and gold in the UK, hit No. 55 in the US, and Morrissey, Marr, and Mike Joyce have all called it their best work.
