Horizon Unlimited LP

The Lijadu Sisters cut Horizon Unlimited, their last album for Decca, and it almost didn't happen: when their planned Lagos session fell apart, twins Taiwo and Kehinde Lijadu moved the recording to London and paid the studio bill themselves. The sisters, second cousins of Fela Kuti, built an afrofunk sound thick with soul and psychedelic touches, sharp feminist lyrics running under songs like "Come On Home." Numero Group's reissue kicked off a multi-year project to bring their whole catalog back into print.
