Flamejob was the Cramps' sixth album, self-produced by Lux Interior and Poison Ivy Rorschach at Earle Mankey's studio in Thousand Oaks in 1994. Creation Records put it out, a UK label built on shoegaze and Britpop signing a band still running on horror-movie camp and raw psychobilly swagger, which nobody at the time seemed able to explain. It closes with a cover of Bobby Troup's "Route 66," which is as close to a joke as this band tells.
