Straight Line Was a Lie CD

The Beths' "Straight Line Was a Lie" dives into the messy contradictions of progress, weaving themes of family dynamics and mental health into their vibrant alt-rock sound. Written in Los Angeles and self-recorded in Auckland, Liz Stokes's songwriting reveals a newfound honesty, fully unearthing vulnerabilities that clash boldly with the album's exuberant sound. This intensity creates a distinctive push-and-pull, making the album anything but straightforward.
