We Will Always Love You CD

The Avalanches build their third album out of ghosts: a sample collage record stitched around death, memory, and the afterlife, pulling from the Melbourne duo's longtime habit of sampling artists who've already died. The guest list sprawls, Rivers Cuomo, Johnny Marr, Tricky, Neneh Cherry, Jamie xx, Karen O, Kurt Vile, Sampa the Great, Denzel Curry, and Vashti Bunyan among them, yet the record still holds together as one long collage rather than a parade of cameos. It took home the Australian Music Prize and sits at 86 on Metacritic, squarely in "universal acclaim" territory.
