Tappa Zukie, born David Sinclair, came up in Kingston's reggae scene in the early 1970s, learning under producer Bunny Lee before toasting albums like Man a Warrior (1973) and MPLA (1976) built him a cult following, with Patti Smith helping carry his name to the UK. Jamaican Recordings has made a habit of digging up dub and instrumental sides from that era, and Horns Up! Dubbing With Horns follows that pattern, built around the horn-driven dub sound that defined roots reggae's instrumental side in the 1970s.
