Raices is SPINE's third full-length for Convulse Records, and it plays like somebody set a metronome to a house fire. Antonio Marquez and guitarist Alex Tunks throw Spanish and English lyrics into the same breath, pulling as much from Cuban rhythm as from eighties crossover thrash, and half these Kansas City songs are gone before the minute mark. Grab the cassette and blink. You'll miss two tracks.
