Before the TikTok resurrection, Sales were just a bedroom act out of Orlando: Lauren Morgan and Jordan Shih working hushed vocals, a thin guitar line and a drum machine doing the heavy lifting. Early singles "Renee" and "Chinese New Year" landed them a spot on Hype Machine's Ones to Watch before the band had an album to its name. That self-titled debut came out independently, and years later TikTok dug up those same old songs and handed the duo an audience they'd never had the first time around.
