Dancing On The Edge LP

Ryan Davis runs Sophomore Lounge and fronts State Champion, but Dancing on the Edge comes from a looser, solo-adjacent setup he calls the Roadhouse Band. The songs stretch out long and unhurried, built on dense, witty lyricism and loose, warm arrangements, the kind of alt-Americana that asks for patience instead of hooks. It landed on more than one best-of-the-year list without much noise behind it, the quiet kind of reputation that's made Davis one of the more respected songwriters in American independent music.
