The Truth LP

Prince cut this acoustic-leaning set at Paisley Park starting in the winter of 1996, meant for a standalone EMI release before that deal fell apart. It ended up tucked inside the Crystal Ball box set instead, credited to NPG Records, with Prince producing and arranging every track solo. Don't expect pure unplugged simplicity: samples, distortion and electronic texture still run underneath. Buy it for the detour, not for a clean acoustic record.
