Anime Trauma Divorce CD

Open Mike Eagle released Anime, Trauma and Divorce on his own label, Auto Reverse Records, and the title alone tells you what kind of record this is. The Los Angeles rapper has built a career on pairing genuinely painful subject matter with a dry, absurdist sense of humor, and here that balance gets tested against a rough personal stretch without tipping into either punchline rap or misery for its own sake. It's introspective storytelling over hip-hop production, not a joke record and not a pity party.
