T-Wave LP

T-Wave is Masayoshi Takanaka's seventh studio album, originally pressed on blue vinyl, and plenty of longtime fans mark it as the start of his most celebrated run of records. It leans hard into jazz fusion with touches of city pop, Latin rhythm, and funk, all built around his clean, melodic guitar lines. "My Secret Beach" later turned up in a Mazda commercial in Japan, proof of just how far Takanaka's sound seeped into the era's popular culture.
