The Duke is a short release from Richmond, Virginia's Lamb of God, built around the title track and named for Wayne Ford, a longtime fan and friend of the band who died of leukemia in 2015. Lamb of God formed in the mid-1990s and became one of the defining bands of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal, known for technical, groove-driven riffing and Randy Blythe's guttural vocals.
