Midnight Cruisin' LP

Here's a weird one: a guy named Kingo Hamada makes a smooth, late-night city pop record on Alfa Moon in 1982, disappears from Western radar for decades, and then in 2017 a producer named Engelwood chops up "Machi no Dorufin" into a meme called "Crystal Dolphin" that goes viral and drags the whole album back to life. Hamada started in the folk group Craft before going solo, and Midnight Cruisin' remains the record people point to as his best.
