Originally Mr. Clarke LP

Through the mid-1970s, Johnny Clarke counted among reggae's biggest voices, teaming with producer Bunny Lee and the Aggrovators from 1974 on and taking the island's Artist of the Year title twice running. This Clocktower set lands a few years after that peak, right as the rocksteady-rooted sound was handing off to dancehall. Late-period work from a man who'd already said most of what he had to say.
