Ephemera LP

Jim-E Stack spent years being the guy behind other people's records, credits that include Diplo, Haim, Empress Of and Charli XCX, before Ephemera puts his own name on the cover. His actual debut, released through AWAL, plays like a producer's record: built almost entirely around guest vocalists, with Justin Vernon of Bon Iver on "Jeanie," Empress Of's Lorey Rodriguez on "Note To Self," and Dijon, Ant Clemons and Kacy Hill rounding out the rest. Northern Transmissions called the production smooth and mood-forward, a tidy way of saying the ghostwriter hasn't fully stepped into the light.
