Mirador LP

Classically trained before he turned toward electronic and orchestral textures, Jean-Michel Blais landed his 2016 debut il on Time's ten best albums of that year. Mirador is his fourth album, built with a twelve-person baroque choir, a string quartet and Andean instruments, developed from childhood memories of building imaginary worlds in his parents' basement. His score for Xavier Dolan's Matthias & Maxime won a Cannes Soundtrack Award. Worth a look if you're into classically trained artists pushing into bigger arrangements.
