SOCKS LP

SOCKS is JD McPherson's first Christmas album, built from original songs instead of the usual standards and put out on New West Records. The Oklahoma-raised rockabilly revivalist twists holiday tropes into genuine rock and roll, and Rolling Stone noted he skipped the genre's usual cliches entirely. A duet with Lucie Silvas on "Claus Vs. Claus" sits alongside the same stripped-down, retro energy that's defined his catalog from the start.
