Twelve thousand copies in seven months, that's how La Flaca started out after Jarabe de Palo cut it in Barcelona in March 1996 for EMI Spain with producer Joe Dworniak. A television commercial changed everything: the title track spread across Spain and Latin America, eventually topping the Spanish charts at 6x Platinum and reaching No. 2 in Italy. Pau Dones' band never wrote a bigger song than this one.
