Jubilee CD

On "Jubilee," released by Dead Oceans in June 2021, Michelle Zauner of Japanese Breakfast pivots toward vibrant pop after the emotionally charged narratives of her earlier albums. The record is like a celebration in sound, laced with bold textures that reflect her fight for joy amid life's difficulties. With tracks such as "Be Sweet" and "Paprika," she infuses her lively ambitions, drawing inspiration from the likes of Björk while exploring themes of optimism and self-discovery.
