I Got Dem Ol' Kozmic Blues Again Mama! LP

Joplin walked away from Big Brother and came back swinging in a different direction, trading psychedelic rock for blues, soul, and gospel on this 1969 Columbia record with her brand-new Kozmic Blues Band behind her. She wrote 'One Good Man' herself and co-wrote the title track with Gabriel Mekler, and turned the Bee Gees' 'To Love Somebody' into something closer to soul-rock. Critics were split at the time; now it reads as the bridge to Pearl.
