James Brown built Sex Machine around a two part hit, Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine, mixing new studio recordings with live audience overdubs on a 1970 record that topped Billboard's R&B chart. Made with the J.B.'s, including Bootsy and Catfish Collins, it helped cement his stripped down, groove first funk sound; this CD reissue comes via Polydor.
