Serial Romantic LP

Before she ever cut a record, Jai'Len Josey was onstage as Pearl Krabs in the SpongeBob SquarePants Broadway musical, which is about as unusual an origin story as R&B gets these days. She left theater for Def Jam after a run of EPs on Lena Waithe's Hillman Grad label, and Serial Romantic, her full-length debut, came together under producer Tricky Stewart around singles like 'New Girl' and 'Freak.' This pomegranate-colored pressing is a limited Record Store Day Black Friday run, a bright entry point into a voice still introducing herself.
