Before Morphine, Mark Sandman kept a looser outlet going: a funk-rooted side project called Hypnosonics, playing guitar and organ through Cambridge, Massachusetts clubs across the late '80s and '90s. This set is a 1996 WFNX radio session cut at Fort Apache, the same studio and same year Morphine recorded Like Swimming. Tom Halter and Russ Gershon of the Either/Orchestra handle horns, and Mike Rivard, later of Club d'Elf, plays bass. It sat unreleased for decades before Modern Harmonic finally put it out.
