Molly Picture CASSETTE

'Molly Picture' is the work of a Philadelphia trio, Douglas Dulgarian of the shoegaze band They Are Gutting a Body of Water alongside Scott Turner and Sam Silbert of Hooky, and despite the name shares nothing with the video game series. It follows their 2023 debut 'serotonin' on Julia's War Recordings, pairing pop songwriting with glitchy, melancholic instrumentals built for the hazy memory of an old skate video or getting lost inside a game. On tape, that fuzzed-out, early-2000s nostalgia sits right where it should, format matching mood without anyone having to explain the joke.
