Wind LP

Numero Group's fortieth-anniversary pressing of Gigi Masin's 'Wind' centers on a full remaster and restoration of the Italian composer's self-pressed 1986 debut, a quiet record of minimal piano and loose, classically-leaning balearic new age that Masin introduced at a few small concerts rather than through any label deal. The jacket is a tip-on design that reproduces the original cover art in reflective silver foil, a direct physical echo of the self-made object this started out as. That original pressing became a reference point for ambient and balearic listeners over the following decades, and this edition gives the artwork the same attention the music eventually earned.
