Limbo CD

Gaerea play black metal hooded and anonymous, like a band that decided stage presence was a liability. Limbo follows their 2018 debut, Unsettling Whispers, and it's a meaner, more melodic record, pairing death metal tempos with hooks sharp enough that Metal Hammer called the band one of the genre's newest visionaries and praised the production for matching the songwriting's intensity. It closes on the sprawling "Mare" and lands on Season of Mist, a solid way into one of metal's more secretive acts.
