Guitar loops into bass loops into sax, all of it looped live by one person: that's the trick Vincent Fenton built as FKJ, a French producer signed to Roche Musique and a fixture of the French house scene. His tastes ran from Led Zeppelin to Miles Davis to Serge Gainsbourg, courtesy of a French mother and New Zealand-born father. Time for a Change catches him mid-formation, alternating "Unchained" against the slower "Instant Need," ahead of his self-titled debut and the Masego team-up "Tadow" that made his name.
