Hot Box LP

Fatback's bigger footnote is cutting "King Tim III (Personality Jock)" in 1979, one of the earliest rap records on wax, and Hot Box followed a year later on Spring Records, leaning hard into the dance-floor funk and rhythm-section grooves that carried the group through the late seventies and into the eighties. For a record with that kind of claim to history, it's barely been reissued: CD pressings surfaced in Japan in 1991 and the UK in 1992, and otherwise it's stayed out of print on vinyl since its original pressing.
