My Aim Is True LP

Six four-hour sessions at Pathway Studios in 1977 produced a debut that still clicks like a tape reel slamming to a stop: My Aim Is True, cut with Nick Lowe producing and country-rock band Clover backing Elvis Costello, though contract trouble kept them off the sleeve. Clover's Sean Hopper later co-founded Huey Lewis and the News, and guitarist John McFee joined the Doobie Brothers. The record hit number 14 in the UK, number 32 on Billboard, placed second in the Village Voice's 1977 Pazz and Jop poll behind the Sex Pistols, and entered the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2007.
