Down by the Jetty LP

Dr. Feelgood cut Down by the Jetty like they'd already heard punk coming and decided to get there first, stripping pub rock down to Wilko Johnson's choppy, percussive guitar and Lee Brilleaux's growled, harmonica vocals, with John B. Sparks and John "The Big Figure" Martin keeping the rhythm honest underneath. Vic Maile produced the 1975 debut, and its influence reached the Ramones and Blondie soon after. Uncut later put it on its list of the 100 greatest debut albums, which tracks.
