1980-1986 LP

Discharge started in 1977 in Stoke-on-Trent and ended up inventing a drum pattern so blunt it got its own name, D-beat, which is still the backbone of a lot of hardcore punk. This set rounds up early material from their Clay Records years, including "Realities of War" and "Grave New World," the latter shoving further into metal territory and pointing straight at the thrash and crossover bands that followed. It's a solid way into a band that gets credited, fairly, with reshaping what punk could sound like.
