Whatchu Bringing? LP

Dinner Party exists because Kamasi Washington, Robert Glasper, Terrace Martin, and 9th Wonder all needed somewhere lower-stakes to put ideas that didn't fit their day jobs, which is a funny thing to say about four musicians this accomplished. Whatchu Bringing? sticks to the same jazz-meets-hip-hop lane the group opened in 2020, with vocalist Phoelix all over it, including the lead single "If It Ain't Broke (Love Wins)," a title that doubles as the group's whole mission statement. Sounds of Crenshaw and EMPIRE put it out, which is about as low-key as a supergroup record gets.
