ii CASSETTE

Denzel Curry and producer Kenny Beats, born Kenneth Blume, pick the partnership back up on ii after their 2020 collaborative album Unlocked, a record that grew out of Curry's appearance on Kenny Beats' now-defunct YouTube series The Cave. This time they stripped the setup down to an SP-404 sampler and a cheap microphone and pushed through the friction until the sound loosened up and got more direct. Nine tracks land through Loma Vista, with Yebba stepping into "Difference," JPEGMAFIA tearing into "Evil Grin" and Westside Gunn closing it out on "Crown."
