International Herb LP

July 7, 1977 was supposed to be doomsday, at least according to Culture's "Two Sevens Clash," the 1977 title track the band says kept parts of Kingston indoors when the date actually came. UK punk fans adopted the band anyway, with John Peel championing them on the radio. International Herb, produced two years later by Sonia Pottinger for Virgin's Front Line label, sticks to the same close three-part harmony built around Joseph Hill's lead voice, the sound Culture carried until Hill died in 2006.
