Battlefields of Asura LP

Chthonic built Battlefields of Asura around Taiwanese deities standing in for resistance and freedom, and the record backs that up by slamming extreme metal straight into East Asian folk atmosphere without blinking. It won Best Band at Taiwan's Golden Melody Awards the year after it came out, and pulled in guest spots from Lamb of God's Randy Blythe and Hong Kong singer Denise Ho along the way. This Svart Records pressing, dressed in new cover art, marks the band's first time back on vinyl in North America and Europe since 2013's Bu-Tik, thirteen years between pressings.
